Luxembourg, Luxembourg

I’ve been so busy writing about the places I have traveled that I haven’t even written about the place I’m actually studying abroad in! Luxembourg is a very small dot on the map in between France and Germany. I’m studying in Differdange, where Miami’s second campus is located. The campus is a giant castle, it’s amazing to be able to study here for the next 3 months! It’s hard to believe I’ve already been here for a month. It’s going by so fast! We have classes Monday-Thursday and Fridays are off. I live about 7 minutes away from the Chateau in a little town called Niederkorn. My host family is ADORABLE. Their names are Rosalia and Paulo & they don’t speak any English haha. My Spanish is coming in handy since Rosalia speaks Italian and a little bit of Spanish. She put ScoobyDoo sheets on my bed, how precious? I live with two other girls, Holly and Jay. It’s nice to have people to travel with and go to Da Leoni with when we’re starving during the week, even though they charge like 10€ to use a fork. Sometimes we go to Das Boot, which is a little bar the Miami students go to near the Chateau. It’s like the top level of CJ’s but half the size with Miami apparel on the walls. It makes me miss Brick (sometimes). The European way of living is so different. Everything is more expensive here, like water & electricity. We have to do our laundry at the Chateau, which is very interesting. I made the mistake of doing it the second week we were here. It put everyone in a bad mood haha there are 3 washers and driers for 100 people & the driers do nothing. You might as well blow on your clothes yourself, they’ll dry faster. It was a little hard to adjust at first! I was really nervous coming here because I didn’t really know anyone. I’m so happy I went through with it though because I have met some amazing people and it has been such a great experience so far. I can’t wait to see where the rest of the semester takes me!
