Birthday Weekend in Paris

For my birthday, I decided to go to Paris since it is close by and finals were the upcoming week. Jay and I took an earlier train and got there around noon on Friday. We went to a well known place called Le Peloton Cafe for coffee and waffles. They were both amazing and the people were super nice & spoke English really well! Afterwards we walked around before heading to the hotel to meet Holly. We hung out in the hotel for a little bit since Mia’s train was getting in soon. Jay had to leave and go back to Lux since she had to study a lot for exams. When Mia got there, we left to walk around Paris for a bit then hit an Indian restaurant for dinner. We were all pretty tired and our hotel was far away from the main attractions (and in a super sketch location) so we headed back before it got dark. In the morning we woke up & got ready for Disneyland Paris! When we got there we purchased our Minnie ears (lame, but no shame) and met up with Kaitlyn and Sarah. We rode Indiana Jones, Peter Pan’s flight, Thunder Mountain, Buzz Lightyear and a few other small ones before calling it a day. It was kind of cold & rainy, and Space Mountain was closed :(, so we ate some dinner and headed out. Sunday was my birthday so we woke up early & went to a super cute place for brunch. It was called The Hardware Société and was next to the Sacre Coeur. We ate eggs and French toast & I also tried my first matcha latte, not bad! After our delicious brunch we walked to the Sacre Coeur. You are supposed to have an incredible view of Paris from up here, but unfortunately it was a cloudy and dreary day. We walked inside and toured the beautiful basilica. I wish we could have gone to mass, but I didn’t want to miss our train. We exited the church and headed back down the hill. There was a little bit of time to kill so we checked out the shops and purchased some chocolate for the ride home. We got on the metro that took us to the main train station & waited to head back to Luxembourg. It was a fun and relaxing birthday weekend, I’m so lucky to have spent my 20th birthday celebrating in Paris! I was a little bummed we didn’t get to do champagne under the Eiffel Tower, but our hotel was far and in a terrible location, plus I have seen it before! This was the last weekend of traveling too  I am excited to be going home but will miss having a new adventure every weekend. This was a good way to end the traveling though! Merci Parí!
